Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 21, 2026 | Applies to: FGRIND Chrome Extension + fgrind.com
TL;DR: We do not collect your name, email, or personal identifiers. FACEIT data comes from public APIs; authenticated calls use your own FACEIT session and never reach our servers. No data selling.
1. Overview
FGRIND operates the browser extension and fgrind.com. The extension reads publicly available FACEIT match data to display win probability, smurf detection scores, and player analytics. When you are logged in to faceit.com, it also uses your existing FACEIT session token (read from the page) to make authenticated requests to FACEIT's own API on your behalf — the same calls the FACEIT website makes (e.g. live match state). We never collect your name, email, password, or any personal identifiers.
Steam Finder (optional, off by default): if you enable Steam Finder and grant the optional steamcommunity.com permission, the extension also runs on Steam profile pages, where it reads the profile's public SteamID64 from the page markup to look up the matching FACEIT profile and show its stats. Turning the toggle off removes the permission and stops all activity on Steam pages.
For EU users: our legal basis for any data processing is legitimate interest in providing the extension functionality. No personal data under GDPR is collected.
2. What we do not collect
- Name, email, or personal identifiers
- FACEIT username or password
- Browser history or activity outside faceit.com (plus steamcommunity.com profile pages, only if you enable the optional Steam Finder)
- Payment or location data
3. What we do process
| Data | Purpose | Stored? |
|---|---|---|
| FACEIT match ID (from page URL) | Fetch public match data | Edge cache only, TTL <= 5 min |
| Public stats of players in the match lobby (ELO, K/D, maps) | Win probability, smurf score | Edge cache only, TTL <= 10 min |
| FACEIT session token (read from the faceit.com page) | Authenticated calls to FACEIT's own API on your behalf (e.g. live match state) | In-memory in your browser only — never sent to our servers or third parties |
| SteamID64 of a Steam profile you view (public; read from the page only with the optional Steam Finder permission) | Find the matching FACEIT profile and show its stats | Edge cache only, same as other public lookups — never linked to you |
| Anonymous install ID (random UUID) | Rate limiting | Local device only |
| Diagnostic and usage counters (internal element names; counts of renders, clicks, successes and failures; extension version) | Spot breakage after FACEIT site changes; see which features are used | Anonymous aggregates only — not tied to a device or a person |
| Daily presence counter (irreversible hash of the install ID mixed with the current date) | Counting active users | Rotates every day — cannot link a device across days |
| Website visits (fgrind.com) | Aggregate traffic | Anonymised, Cloudflare Analytics |
The anonymous install ID is a randomly generated UUID with no personal information attached. It cannot be traced back to you.
Display diagnostics and usage counters
The extension sends anonymous counters: which interface elements it managed to find on the FACEIT page, how often its own panels rendered or were clicked, how its requests fared, and the extension version. This is what lets us notice breakage quickly after FACEIT changes its site, and shows which features are worth keeping. Only internal element names and numbers are sent — no page content, no URLs, no match or player IDs, no personal data.
Counting active users
To know how many people use the extension, an anonymous counter is sent at most once an hour: an irreversible hash of the local install ID mixed with the current date. The value changes every day, so it cannot be used to link a device across days or to build any kind of profile. The install ID itself never leaves your device.
4. Backend proxy
Public match data is fetched either through our proxy at api.fgrind.com or directly from your browser to FACEIT's public API — anonymously, without your session token or any user identifier attached. Either way, the FACEIT Open Data API key stays on our server and never ships inside the extension, and our proxy (when used) does not log request content or associate requests with any user identity. Authenticated requests (using your own session token) go directly from your browser to FACEIT's API and do not pass through our proxy.
5. FACEIT data
All data is sourced from the FACEIT Open Data API v4. FGRIND is independent and not affiliated with FACEIT or ESL Gaming.
6. Cookies & local storage
The extension uses chrome.storage.local for preferences and the anonymous UUID. This data stays on your device only.
fgrind.com uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, cookie-free and with no fingerprinting.
7. Advertising & partner integrations
FGRIND does not display advertising. Partner links or affiliate banners may appear in the future. They will be clearly labelled and can be disabled in settings.
8. Third-party services
- Cloudflare, Inc. - hosting for fgrind.com and api.fgrind.com
- FACEIT / ESL Gaming GmbH - source of all match data via public API
9. Children privacy
FGRIND is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
10. Changes
We will update the "Last updated" date when this policy changes. Material changes will be noted in the extension changelog.
